The International Film Festival, held since 1946, made Cannes famous all over the world. One
of the main attractions of the town is the Boulevard de la Croisette. On this palmtree decorated
promenade offers cafes, restaurants, luxury shops and hotels where most of the festival goers
stay during the festival. The beach along the promenade is the place for (future) movie stars to
be photographed. The boulevard ends at the old port where luxury yachts are moored.
The Musee de la Castre has a rich collection of archaeological finds from the Mediterranean
and indigenous art for all over the world.
