A picturesque village with historical houses frequented by writers and poets. Just looking at from outside its walls you feel drawn in as from its hight on the hill it presents itself in all its beauty and particular aspect. Completely surrounded by fortified walls Saint Paul de Vence has only one access point perfectly maintained and fortified still today by its cannon.
The famous Lacan Cannon (named by the captain that defended the village from enemy attacks) it was utilised in various battles and appears to have suceeded in protecting this magnificent place from the continuous attacks coming from the hinterland and the sea. You will find a museum of modern art with paintings by Braque, Mirò, Chagall, Dalì, Klimt... The building is immersed in the greenery of a beautiful park with fountains and sculptures by famous artist.
